byDr. Rajesh Takyar
About the Book
This sixth section on meditation yoga by Lord Krishna consists of 47 verses, in which he delves deeply into the methods and characteristics of meditation, self-control, mental stability, and karma yoga. Here, Lord Krishna also explains who a true karma yogi is. Is he more than just someone who practices external renunciation?
In this section, Lord Krishna himself explains the method of meditation. He says that the mind is fickle, but it can be controlled through practice. Through this method of meditation, a person can experience the soul and the Supreme Soul within themselves.
He further explains that even if a householder cannot fully achieve the ultimate stage of meditation yoga throughout his life, his efforts are not in vain. They remain with him in future lives. This section explains that the best of all yogis is one who, with complete faith, constantly keeps the mind focused on the Supreme Soul.
By reading this section one can fully understand the control of the mind, the importance of meditation and the state of a Karma Yogi, and clearly experience the path to self-realization.
